How Does CureSmartTM Work? — Non-imaging Optics

CureSmart™ technology combines with existing UV lamp technologies to provide superior solutions for decorating, protecting and enhancing the quality of commercial components in the electronic, medical product, automotive, converting, flooring, wood, glass, graphic arts, and plastic industries while eliminating volatile organic compounds (VOCs). Military and space applications are also enhanced by this technology.

CureSmart decouples exposure geometry from lamp geometry, a major innovation to improve UV cure quality

All UV rays come from diffuse reflectors within the non-imaging optical system; there are no direct rays incident on surfaces to be treated. The UV light is ‘processed’ for uniformity before reaching your surface.

The non-imaging optical system eliminates IR by absorbing it rather than transferring it to your part

The non-imaging optical system selectively transmits UV and absorbs IR. This feature may permit you to cure coatings on materials easily damaged by heat or UV, and use chemical coating formulations that are damaged by UV.
